Happy Fall!
We are down to FIVE kids, and in January, we may have a normal-ish-sized home with FOUR kids in the house. As my oldest were a little more "independent-minded," my younger kids, although sad, are enjoying fewer chores and more organization in general.
I'm sad.
It's a loud quiet without dozens of shoes in the entryway and bodies in the living room and kitchen. Those three big boys took away trove of teens, who used to fill our house.
But, onward and upward, I suppose! We are on our annual family vacation in SPI. It's a rainy-ish week, but we have still managed to get some sunshine and tans. I've been working, puzzling, Monopoly-ing, gym-ing, coloring, and other "ings." I've also been recovering. There's busy, and then there's BUSY. The past few months, I've been BUSY and ready for better sleep and not so much crammed into a day.
On the narration front!
I recently finished Jodi Burnett's SURVIVAL (Tin Star K9 Series, Book 10), as well as another book for Gwen Downs. If you need to learn to SAY NO without guilt, check out her Self-Help Series.
Coming soon is The Peace of Letting Go by Judy Dyer. I find a lot of self-help books have a lot of the same advice. This one had many great points, and I took note.
I also want to highlight JANICE COLE HOPKINS. I've been able to narrate several books for Janice. They are wholesome historical romances. Life can be overhwelming and the world can be a little sad. Often, I need to escape to these genres - where true love and the good guys prevail.
Mostly, I have had to keep my narration calendar light through mid-October with vacation and conferences—including a Gala—not my thing—but I did purchase a dress and shoes (ugh).
I hope I'm ready. Regardless of how it goes, I get a rare weekend with James, who has been very supportive.
Stay tuned—November is when Christmas begins in my house. We love Thanksgiving, but the colors are all wrong for my house, so it gets to share with Christmas, which goes so much better with Newberg Green and Gentleman's Gray.
Happy Halloween and Have a wonderful October!
