Hello Everyone!

It's August — which makes me sad. One of my favorite times of year is spring/early summer. Once the 4th of July is over, I get a little depressed, especially when I start seeing school supplies! Ridiculous! We don't want to think about that yet, please!

We have had a wonderful summer so far, though. We had back-to-back reunions with lots of extra kids! We went to an amusement park, and it was the first time in 19 years that we weren't trapped in Kiddieland most of the time. I loved following the teenagers around to the scary rides. (And I definitely didn’t forget my Meclizine!)

Project News

In the Studio

I'm finished narrating Isobel's Hidden Melody and it will soon be live on Audible. I'm really excited about this series. I love American history — I just watched Young Washington and The Alamo and both were excellent!

The Ruby Cradle by James Hill with Ellis Audiobooks is almost a wrap. Also, keep an eye out for Ferret Run by Scott Freeman — one of my favorite sci-fi novels I've narrated.

I have two new narration contracts, including a third installment for Gwen Downs about people-pleasing and Good Together by divorce attorney Diana Romanov. This one caught my interest because it turns the attention from "being a victim" to "what can I do to change and improve my marriage" — especially from someone with extensive experience watching the fallout of failed marriages.

Shep and the King of Hearts by Stacy Ladyman and Love and the Divorce Lawyer are now LIVE, so check them out on Audible if you like a good clean romance!

Industry News

I may have an illness, but I am always listening to some form of Harry Potter. It takes a while to get through all seven books, but every so often, I just need to escape to Quidditch matches and magical greenhouses. Jim Dale was my young-adult narrator. I remember listening to CDs 1 and 2 on my way home from college. I will always love his version.

If you haven't listened to the new full-cast Harry Potter, I highly recommend it. Many people don't understand what goes into being a great narrator — we're always continuing to learn the ins and outs — but it's so much more than just having a nice voice and the ability to read. Much more! You have to keep your audience's attention, and that can be surprisingly difficult. This cast is full of great narrators. It is so fun to listen to!

Have a happy August. It has been hot and very dry here, and unfortunately, we have had fires nearby. We are praying for rain and hoping for relief soon.
