Hello!
Welcome to the MAY issue of my Studio Letters.
My first of seven kids is off at college. Whew! That was fun and sad. We're proud of him. Our second is about to leave for Puerta Princesa in the Philippines! Also a wonderful experience and we're so proud and happy. Our house will feel a little too quiet for a while. My younger kids have wasted no time taking over their spaces :)
Project News:
Over the next several months I'll be working on three projects with Ellis Audiobooks:
The Ruby Cradle by Jim Hill
Love and the Divorce Lawyer by Barbara Newhart, and
Ferret Run by Scott Freeman
I will also be narrating a very informative business book, The Architectures of Ambition: Navigating Power, Ethics, and Personal Purpose in Corporate America
by John Mark Gray.
Isobel's Song: Book 2, by Daryl Lott, will begin production in May - it's a fantastic novel about the Texas Revolution and moves us toward the Civil War. Isobel's Song, Book 1, is available on Amazon! I highly recommend it for any history buffs - it's well-researched!
And finally, I signed a contract with Stacy Ladyman, author of a beautiful, uplifting romance book, called Shep and the king of Hearts. This is a heart-warming story of healing and redemption.
You can stay tuned to news about upcoming titles on my Instagram page @lbneibaur
More News:I will be graduating from Sean Pratt's narration coaching program next month! This has been a golden opportunity. I recommend it for any narrators needing a boost in their skills, and also any authors who have ever considered narrating their own work, which is also my goal. You can take a look at his program here.
Also for new/aspiring authors, I can't say enough about Michael Neff's Algonkian Novel Writing and Editing Program. - everything you need to know about plots, characters, industry trends, and how to get your project off the ground.
Industry News:
Audiobooks are still one of the fastest-growing publishing formats
The audiobook market is continuing strong growth, with billions in annual revenue and double-digit growth rates in many markets.
Audible and Spotify are aggressively expanding libraries - demand is rising faster than print or ebooks in some segments.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. Wishing you a lovely May and happy spring!
Have a wonderful day,
